On August 1st the Portage Lions Club took a picture with the students enrolled in the Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs – Fun with Torches summer program at Madison College. The Club sponsored 4 middle school students.
The community and the students love this program so much that ALL the students were sponsored by area businesses and community members!
The Lions Club presented a check for $500.00 to the Summer Lunch Program on July 30th.
The Club raised the funds from selling rootbeer floats at Canal Days and the Club matched the funds raised!
We are happy to support such a great program!
On Friday, May 17th the Portage Lions Club along with Terrytown Plumbing and the Portage Parks and Rec Department unveiled the new addition to the Splash Pad – the Lion Bubbler!!
Thank you to Terrytown Plumbing for donating the plumbing installation and the City of Portage for installing the bubbler. And we can’t forget to thank the amazing community for donating funds so the club could purchase the bubbler.
We hope the community will enjoy this new addition to Goodyear Park for generations to come!!

Graduating from Portage High School they each received a $1,000 scholarship from the Portage Lions Club. They are each pursuing a Nursing Degree.

On April 20th the Portage Lions Club held their annual Easter Egg Hunt for the community kids at John Muir Elementary School.
Hundreds for kids searched the grass around the school for thousands of brightly colored chocolate Easter eggs!
The kids and even the adults had a great time!

This fundraiser will help with our college scholarships and other community projects.
The Portage Lions Club is a big proponent of continuing education! On February 15th we awarded our first Continuing Education Scholarship!
Lions Julie, Dorri and Wendy, along with Linda from Madison College presented Dakota with $1,000.00 to go towards her Respiratory Therapy degree.
