On April 25, 2018, Lions Julie Witt and Emil Mravic reassure a youngster at Divine Savior’s Child Care as they screen for several of the vision maladies that youngsters might have.
Before the screening, parental permission is granted.
The Lions use sophisticated equipment to determine if the children might need a doctor’s care to rule out or treat any of several childhood problems.
This year the Lions did 650 children screenings that resulted in 46 children being referred to an ophthalmologist for treatment.
One of the Lions Clubs’ core projects is to eliminate preventable blindness.
